What We Do
The Office for Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination (OPHD) provides education, training, prevention activities and resources, related to harassment and discrimination, to and for members of the SSU community.
OPHD responds to complaints related to
- sex and gender-based discrimination
- sexual harassment
- sexual misconduct,
- dating violence,
- domestic violence,
- stalking
- discrimination based on protected class - i.e., age, Disability (physical and mental), Gender (or sex), Gender Identity (including transgender), Gender Expression, Genetic Information, Marital Status, Medical Condition, Nationality, Race or Ethnicity (including color or ancestry), Religion (or Religious Creed), Sexual Orientation, sex stereotype, and Veteran or Military Status;
- harassment based on protected class
- retaliation
OPHD provides neutral and thorough resolution processes in accordance with CSU executive orders and Federal laws.
OPHD supports pregnant, parenting & nursing students and employees by providing accommodations for students and access to lactation space(s) at SSU for students and employees.
