Student Training

The CSU Nondiscrimination Policy requires that all new and returning students receive yearly, ongoing training in sex discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, dating and domestic violence, and stalking.  The "Not Anymore" online training modules are provided yearly for all students.  For questions pertaining to the Title IX Online Training or related hold, please email ophd@sonoma.edu with your ID number.

Employee Training

The CSU Nondiscrimination Policy mandates that all incoming and current employees receive yearly, ongoing training in sex discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, dating and domestic violence, and stalking. Yearly training for employees is provided through CSU Learn. For more information contact ssutraining@sonoma.edu

 

We are recruiting!  Become a Peer Ambassador / Educator 

Position Description:

Are you passionate about the prevention of sexual harassment, interpersonal violence, harassment, and discrimination? Are you committed to fostering a Seawolves Care philosophy of a  culture of respect and equity on our campus? Do you want to be a changemaker? We are looking for Peer Ambassadors/Educators who will help develop relatable and great trainings and programming for our our campus community about issues related to the prevention of  sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, and stalking.  

Duties/Responsibilities 

Develop and conduct programming and workshops for the prevention of  sexual harassment, interpersonal violence, harassment, and discrimination. 

  • Collaborate with OPHD/SMART team members to plan and host campus prevention events. 
  • Assist in developing educational materials, resources, videos, digital marketing, and social media content designed to educate the campus on Consent, Upstander Intervention, and preventing Sexual Misconduct, Interpersonal Violence, Harassment, and Discrimination.
  • Act as a liaison with the student population of SSU through building relationships, networking, and meeting with students, campus organizations, clubs, and programs.
  • Daily administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of prevention activities/office.
  • Participate in the campus Sexual Misconduct/Assault Resource Team (SMART) committee.
  • Role model and embody consent-centered practices and prevention values.
  • Work on additional projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Experience with public speaking in large and small groups  
  • Experience with creating social media content,  Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop) and/or Canva is a plus
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Results-driven, strong attention to detail, proactive, and motivated to work independently
  • Passion and caring nature towards creating a safe environment for our SSU Community
  • Role model and embodying consent-centered practices
  • Prior training in or knowledge of Interpersonal Violence Prevention and Bystander Intervention (preferred, not required)
  • Dope attitude with the ability to adapt to new information

Additional Information:  

  • Average hours: 8-10 hours per week 
  • Wage: $17.00 per hour 
  • Work Location: The OPHD office and on campus at events
